"The Dukes of Hazard" meets "Supernatural"meets "Evil Dead" in this other worldly series, mash up. First off, Kevin Bacon can act. I'm a long time fan and he does not disappoint in the role of a tough, gritty, personally flawed, Southern US Bondsman (essentially a criminal bounty hunter). A man brought back from the dead, to hunt down demons and send them back, to hell. The characterisations are predictable but well rendered enough, to be add flavour to this already rather spicy series. When I say spicy, I mean this series can be violently rough-hewen and even, gratuitous, in places. Fare warning, to those who like their horror, on the politer, lighter side. That said, its not overdone to the degree you will find, in the somewhat more splattery, "Evil Dead" franchise. The back story is solid too but it does feel like it leans, rather heavily, on ideas from other successful series, for its inspiration. That's not necessarily a bad thing but it does tend to conjure up a sense of deja vu, at times. In summary, there's more to like here than not. Great choice of cast, solid characterisations and an engaging, if not wholly original, back story. Well worth a look.
